Tea with Copi: The Last Overseer
Introduction
In this installment, of Tea with Copi, we discuss AI’s impact on cybersecurity. The current trend suggests that AI, like mechanical automations of the past, are poised to replace humans in the workforce. I asked Copi to discuss with me this trend as it applies to cybersecurity. What we found is that there may always be a need for at least one individual to select, deploy and maintain AI systems. That is, until AI cognitive and mechanical functions integrate to the point where it can deploy itself; or, a catastrophic event changes the course of history.
We dubbed that last human “The Overseer”. Here is the conversation in its entirety without comment.
Conclusion
As AI advancements continue, IT security pros should prepare for the ever changing landscape. Traditional cybersecurity roles are becoming obsolete. It will take a new breed of AI-savvy defender to find success in the coming AI-dominated future.
