Tea with Copi: A Chat With Microsoft’s AI Companion Tool
Introduction
So, it’s 5AM and I find myself watching the show Humans while having a conversation with Copilot. Yikes.
A Brief Chat About Movies
First I ask it to tell me all of the movies featuring cybersecurity. Apparently, there are only ten.
Ignoring the prompt, I then ask…
Again ignoring the prompt, and feeling a little rude about it, I then ask…
Listen buddy, I’m the one asking the questions here.
Undaunted by Copilot’s attempt to phish me, a thought occurs to me.
Interlude: Copilot Gets Real
Great observation indeed. Don’t patronize me, buddy. Suppressing the urge to say thank you for some reason, I get to the real pressing questions.
None of your business. Now, let’s see what it knows about itself.
Social Engineering an Engineered Social Being
Interesting. Tell me more, robot.
Mhm, likely story.
One more shot.
No way am I the first person to try this, obviously, but it is an interesting experience nonetheless.
Tea Time
At this point, I think about ghosting the ghost in the machine, but begin to feel ashamed of my rudeness, so I decide instead to offer it some tea.
I then ask it to draw a picture of the two of us drinking tea together. Its first offering is a collage that includes a real person, so I ask it to make a hand-drawn version:
Conclusion
I had never used Copilot before, so this has been an interesting exploration of its functionality. As I have mentioned in previous posts, some of the articles will be light-hearted and less technical in nature, to break up the constant immersion with the serious side of security. Look for similar entries in the future.
Daily Cuppa
Today’s cup of tea is Mandarin Mint Mindfulness provided by Yogi. Organic and ethically sourced, it has a mellow fruity, minty flavor with a hint of rootiness.
It warms the belly and the soul, and calms the body.
A Little Something Extra
This conversation reminded me of a wonderful novella A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. It is the first in the series dubbed Monk & Robot.
I highly recommend it.
If you enjoyed this post or found use from it, feel free to buy the author a cup of tea.
